The trip to Spain filled our final passport pages with visa stamps. Here we will have to turn our passports into the US Embassy in Madrid and pray to get new passports before we have to leave the European Union. (in 3 months).

We must have over a hundred sunrise pictures from our vantage point overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra Nevada mountains beyond the bay. Lots of beauty. We recently discovered how taking in sunlight from this low angle has several health benefits. What’s not to like about that?

We do a lot of walking – almost 10,000 a day. But we don’t like steep grades. The miles and miles of walkways along the Mediterranean Sea are perfect for us. And the walkways are sometimes very wide with separate lanes for bicycles and skates.

We also feel very safe here. Here are some of the defenses protecting us from a potential invasion from the sea.

One of our favorite treats here is ‘chocolate caliente’ – hot chocolate that is thick as pudding.

There is quite a large community from the Netherlands here and they have an annual celebration often attended by their King and Queen. Their country color is Orange. I got in the swing of things this year.

I’m always impressed when I look at this oldest building in Torremolinos. Torremolinos means mill tower. And there it is. From about the year 700. Something like over one hundred generations ago.

We’ve had a great time meeting family of old friends. In the early 1970’s I was in a commune with Dallin Malmgren in Columbia, Missouri. His sister, Diana and her husband, Mike have lived in Torremolinos for ten years. They are a great resource of how to get the most out of living here. We’re loving getting to know them.

Just a pretty, cedar lined small street on the way down to the sea from Diana and Mike’s apartment.
