SPAIN

A vegan veggie burger. The place is called Wala, near Torremolinos. It was almost a two mile walk. That is a zuchinni spagetti plate in the background.
All up and down the coast, the restaurants have these outdoor bar-b-que’s for roasting fish. They burn corkwood knarls. The metal plates reflect the heat back to the fish and the whole device swivels to make best use of the wind.
Sometimes the only dark beer a restaurant will have is Guinness. Not a bad choice.
Since nearly every restaurant here in Torremolinos offers Paella, Charlotte decided to give it a try. It was a lot. She didn’t like it.
I think this was a super duper salad at Vintage 8. They name all their dishes after famous musicians.
Another great salad at Vintage 8.
A chocolate mousse desert at Vintage 8.
Bruschetta at El Gato Lounge.
The Cod dish at El Gato Lounge. The sauce really makes this dish. The cod is good too.
The bread is generally really good everywhere. It is best if you get it as soon as possible after it is baked.

Charlotte wanted to try these anchovies. Ok. Been there and done that.
They called this a Caesar Salad. Not even close to what we call it in the states. Good though.
I think this is red snapper. A lot for a little girl. At an old restaurant in Torremolinos. Bodega Guerola.
This was mushrooms (plural) on the menu. There’s a couple shrimp in the middle there.
A ‘Special Ensalada’ at Bodega Guerola. Apples, Oranges, Jalapenos, Olives, Beets, Tomato, Zuchinni, Onion.

I think this is vegetables with tempe or it could be Gado-Gado. It is at Nusa Bay.

A big veggie burger at Elements. Based on eggplant, but so much more. A meal for 2.

This huge place of guacamole for…$1.40.
Kopi Luwak. This is the world’s most expensive coffee. I’m not a coffee drinker. These coffee beans come out the butt of a civet. I’m really not into poop drinks either. So, like I said, I really don’t get it.
The best guacamole we found is at Macha Mama in Penistanan. They make their own chips. The refried beans are really good also.
There is a Falafel Warong. A fellow from California opened this shop 8 months ago in the Art Market in downtown Ubud. All his food was very good.
Elements has really good French Fries in a bucket. Comes with Ketchup and something like Tarter Sauce – it may have dill in it. Very good.

Another creation for breakfast at the Spicy Coconut. Eggs on toast with tomato and rocket greens.
Gado-Gado. My favorite. This is tofu and tempe and greens and almost raw veggies smothered in a sweet peanut sauce. This one had some hard boiled egg also.
