Charlotte’s sister, Shelia and her husband, Gary took us to some nice nature spots in the Chicago area. This is a natural bog with cattails, and lots of lily pads.

Sheila and Gary riding the commuter train down to the Field Museum with us.

Headed to downtown Chicago.

Charlotte sizing up her tiny leg compared to a dinosaur leg bone at the Field Museum.

I think this is the head of their big dinosaur named Sue at the Field Museum.

We spent nearly all of our two hours in the Field Museum going through the evolution exhibit. It was about 2 in the afternoon when we took this picture. Let this sink in.

This is a mandala in the ceiling at the Tibetan exhibit in the Field Museum.

As I remember, this quartz crystal stood almost two feet tall. They have some rocks in the Field Museum.

At the Field Museum, Charlotte found this meteorite from her home galaxy!

Charlotte found this small Egyptian temple in Chicago.

Charlotte jogging along Lake Michigan in Chicago.

From in a bog NW of Chicago.
We got to catch some pictures of Charlotte’s family while in Chicago. This is Charlotte’s father, Charles Murphy.
On Charlotte’s mother’s side of the family, these are relatives from Hungary. Her grandparents are the man on the back row, 2nd from the right and below him, her grandmother (Fannie). Here is an interesting note: Fannie’s sister was Tiny Kline, who was an acrobat in circuses and later played Tinkerbell at Disneyland in California. There is a poster of her hanging by her teeth on a wire between two New York skyscrapers.
Charlotte’s grandfather’s passport. Oscar Tabory. (Charlotte just learned that my grandfather’s name was also Oscar (Lundemo)
From the same passport. This is Oscar, his wife Fannie and their daughter, Viola (Charlotte’s mother)
Again, Charlotte’s grandparents and her mother.
