Nearly every day we ran a couple miles down 9 Mile Creek to the Minnesota River. There is some wetland next to the river and we got to hang out with all kinds of ducks there.
My sister Mary and grand nephew Hunter at the lake cottage near Paynesville.

A blue heron joins us in the wetland area along the Minnesota River.
My mother, Lois Lundemo, at 92 took on a mega project and did this diamond art project. I think it is about 3 feet by 2 feet and consists of thousands of colored ‘diamonds’ that had to be meticulously glued in place. She was getting it framed as we were leaving Minnesota.
A typical section of our running trail along 9 Mile Creek to the Minnesota River.
9 Mile Creek.
An altar created by the users of 9 Mile Creek Park at the .5 mile marker. We had a similar altar in front of our house on Warrior Trail in Jackson, Mississippi.
Charlotte and the Minnesota River.
At the Minnesota State Fair, (the second largest in the country), they carve a likeness of all the contestants for the title of Princess Kay. They are carved out of BUTTER!
The big Ferris Wheel at the Minnesota State Fair. It is quite a light show. I bet we’ll post a video.

About those hats. Mom made one for dad and he wore it for many years when he went fishing. Mom knitted the hats using sections of beer cans. It looked a lot better on my dad.

The amazing Max and his dad, Jeremy Ahern who is married to my niece, Amy. An example: Maxwell has been rambling on about nothing for about 10 minutes now. “I just wish dying wasn’t a thing.” Me too buddy. Me too. “Did you know that if you just spell the word ‘he’ really fast that it’s like a sneeze? Aych ee. Aychee. See?” I had never realized that. How did YOU realize this? “I have so much to tell you. Because I’m so smart. Because I’m in first grade and skipped preschool. Aren’t I smart?” Well actually I was too lazy and cheap to research preschool programs in time and missed the sign up deadline, so said eff it, you’ll be fine without it. But yes, you’re smart. “Did you ever have it where your kindergarten teacher and your first grade teacher look so so so so much alike and you just forget which one is which?” No, mine looked nothing alike. Never had that problem. “Don’t you just love the sound of my voice? And wish you could live with me forever?” Sure Max 💙💙💙
