Coming out of the first tunnel.
The real trail through the canyons begins here.
Deep and narrow canyons.
Beautiful sandstone walls.

Steps going down to the canyon floor were apparently off limits.
To really get a sense of how deep and how tall these stone walls are – a picture can’t do it justice.
On the other side of the canyon a high speed rail line zips through tunnels and over bridges and trestles.
Following us along part of the trail was an old viaduct for sending irrigation water to the valleys. We actually walked in the viaduct for part of the trek.
Charlotte, who is usually not very comfortable with heights, did just fine and said she felt safe.

And this is the video Charlotte was shooting, while I was videoing her:

Sometimes the canyon was not only deep below us, it was also towering way above us with vultures circling.
The hanging bridge. We got away from crawling along the wall and walked over to the other side.

And this view from Charlotte’s camera:

Beautiful fields heading back to Torremolinos from Caminito del Rey.
Heading back to the coast, we came across some of the renewable energy projects producing electricity for Spain.
