This is just silly.
There is a huge reef here in Nua Dusa (southern Bali)
This is it. Everything we own.
The Hilton Bali Resort is on a cliff. This is looking down on the pool, beach restaurant, etc.
I guess you can’t tell how big these koi fish are. Imagine them big.
The deer here at Nusa Bay are quite comfortable being in the ocean. At least once a year a group of them swims to a nearby island that I think is at least a kilometer away.
An odd effect of sunrises over the ocean. Will there be two suns this morning?
Beautiful, colorful sunrises from Nusa Bay.
A lone mangrove tree grows out in the ocean at Nusa Bay.
At Nusa Bay we would see a boat come by every once in a while.
Fishing is Forbidden.
No Hunting Animals.
Forbidden to Take Shells.
Note the monkey skull!
Park rangers on motorbikes check everyone to make sure they are authorized to be in the park. They are protecting all life in the park. They come by every 20-30 minutes.
This is a favorite hangout of huge pythons. We actually went up and took a peek. Nobody home at the moment.
This is the home of a trapdoor spider. They make these walls so steep that ants have a really hard time getting up the side. When the ant falls to the center, the spider reaches out from the center and grabs it.

Black monkeys are very rare. Here they are protected. Check out their faces!
This is the oldest tree on Nusa Bay national reserve. Here old trees are revered as sacred.
This is our cabin at Nusa Bay, Bali
A two foot lizard crossed the walkway in front of us.
White we were eating at Nusa Bay, deer would come very near and munch on grass and low hanging leaves.
the only way to get to Nusa Bay is by boat. This is where you get the boat at Latuhan Lalang.
Heading out to Nusa Bay Resort. It’s out in the wilderness. Beyond the roads.
We are so close to Java here. Those are volcanic mountains in Java in the background
Another Java volcano. This one looks like it blew the entire top of the mountain away maybe long ago (I hope).
The front deck of our ship.
Approaching our destination.
Enjoying the first meal on the beach at Pemuteran.
Getting ready to enjoy a meal on the beach in Pemuteran At Taman Sari Resort.
I watched to young girls battle this chess board to a draw. It was brutal.
This patient gecko up in the corner of our room trying to hunt down a moth. Eventually the gecko sneaked up and around the light fixture and got his meal.
Tax season. Spending a lot of time here in the office.
The calm waters at Pemuteran, Bali. Northwest coast.
Put a lime in all de coconut!
Stopped to watch people feed the grey monkeys by the side of the road.
On the way to the northwest of Bali we stopped at a temple on Lake Bratan named Pura Ulum Danu.

This is Terry and his wife who are wonderful Air BnB hosts. Terry gave me a motorbike lesson which was really useful.
On Sunday Ketungu beach (right below us) sometimes gets very crowded. Almost all local people. This is part of the parking lot.
The sunsets can be quite awesome from Ketiri.
We can also see the moon from here. It’s the full moon in April. Charlotte’s Nikon gets really close to distant things!
We can still see Mt. Agung even though we’ve moved quite a ways further from it.
We can also see other volcanic mountains from here. Mt. Batar for one.
I thought this was so cool. Here I was, sitting in warm tomorrow on the other side of the planet and I was watching the Twins play in their chilly home opening game – LIVE! And they won!
Ok. These look too green to eat, right? And besides look at all those spots. The insides are going to have all these mushy, dark bruised areas, right? Not so. These are all ripe and without bruises. Did you know monkeys peel bananas from the bottom end, not the top. Try it.
I think I caught a surfer catching a wave here. Surfing and walking, jogging on the beach are great here. Swimming not so much. You’ll get thrown around by the powerful surf and come back with a bathing suit full of sand!
When villages in Bali have a celebration (this one went on for over a month) they put up these bamboo poles with adornments.
This is my typical view on my road to fitness. Following Charlotte on long morning jogs.
Doesn’t she look beautiful? This is the day I became Charlotte’s new hairdresser. Not only did I color her roots, we colored everything!
We didn’t bother closing our open windows when we went to dinner the second night in Ketiri. We came home to the apartment filled with hundreds – yes hundreds! – of these stink bug like creatures.
The April full moon setting into the Indian Ocean at Ketiri.
This is the name of the beach we are at in Ketiri
A drone view of our apartment, Atlantis3 in Ketiri. We are staying in the middle floor closest corner to the camera.
From Google Earth this is the place we went to after Ubud. It is near a famous temple Tanen Lot. There are 4 circles on this map. The right-most circle is where we ate our meals, The Fat Hog (really!). If you follow the road to the left of that circle to the next circle, well that would be home. The one with the red roof.
There is Charlotte melting in the hot springs at Lake Batar.
Look closely. I’m in a hot spring infinity pool and Lake Batar is behind me. The pool felt great!

In the higl elevations of Bali is Lake Batar and the volcanic hot springs.
Looking for the best Pizza in Ubud? You found it. I’ll try to put a pizza pic under the food tab.
There were several of these moss covered statues at the Monkey Forest in Ubud
A rare clear shot of Mount Agung taken during our morning jog.
Wet floor. No Problem. I’ll just hang here on the railing.
They can peel fruit really fast. I am told that they peel a banana from the bottom end not the top like we do. I tried it. I think their method is better.
While at the Monkey Forest in Ubud this guy decided to climb up my leg and nestle in my arms for a hug. It was unusual behavior for a wild monkey, but I loved it.
At Dharma’s woodworkers group they are carving. They use their feet to hold the item.
Tegenungan Waterfall is unusual in that it is at a pretty low elevation. About half-way between Ubud and the ocean. Some people jump off these rocks.
Our neighbor is preparing his rice field for another planting.
Our view of Mount Agung from Ubud. The volcano rumbles a bit but no ash and little worry.
We keep meeting adventurous spirits. This is Maria who grew up in Russia and is also looking for a place to call home. She took her yoga teacher training in Costa Rica.
Rice worker taking a mid-day break from harvesting. Very sharp blade in his left hand.
We were welcomed at our new place by these 4 fruits. Do you recognize any? The orange one is a type of orange. The darkest one is a purple mangosteen. The scaly one is snakeskin fruit. And the green one is a passion fruit – when they are riper they turn more red.

Charlotte with the owner of the Ibu Putus Warung. She has great traditional food at a really good price.
This was a strawberry and a banana drink at the all raw and vegan restaurant named Alchemy. They have an organic farm that grows all their food. Note the straws made from a hollow stem plant.
Pic 1 of 5 of our breakfast at Ibu Putus. All this for under $6. This is a huge wrapped up pineapple pancake with warm chunks of pineapple in the center.
Pic 2 of 5 of our Ibu Putus breakfast. This was my banana drink. She made too much so she gave me that second glass full.
Pic 3 of 5. This was my Nasi Goeng at Ibu Putus. That is vegetable fried rice with tempe, a fried egg, fresh tomato and cucumber and fried potato chips.
Pic 4 of 5 at Ibu Putus Warung. A fruit dish of banana, lime, watermelon and papaya.
Pic 5 of 5. This was Charlotte’s drink. Brem, a Balanese rice wine with a great reflection of the vegetation in our view from Ibu Putus Warung. All foods in the 5 pictures came to less than $6.
On the map, we took all these white lines to be roads, just not major roads. See the related pic of what these lines really represented.
Ok. This is what those white line roads actually look like. Pathways. Not roads.
Dinner on the beach with this wonderful sunset.
Charlotte in the biggest chess game of her life. Or is that a miniature Charlotte?
These sunsets on the beach at Seminyak go on for over an hour. It’s really quite a show.
Charlotte studies the menu at Cantina Warung on the beach at Seminyak

This couple, Made and Kadek, manage Yunni Guesthouse and we really like them.

Hundreds of small mackerel were caught.

Strolling along the Amed beach we saw a fisherman get very excited about spotting a school of fish. They got the net out quickly.

You can walk through this whole garden on the stepping stones. Lots of large koi in the water.

Bali is the sixth largest producer of rice. They generally get three crops a year.

Important road sign. Vision your passion. Go there.

Our arrival in Singapore. The view from our room at Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Changi Airport.

For the first time since we were teens – no keys!
